I just read an article on Pesticide Exposure in Children from Pediatrics, the Official Journal of the American Academy of Pediatrics. It discusses the risks of pesticide exposure in children and some of the clinical signs and symptoms of exposure. The article calls for continued research to "reform regulatory needs", and "marketing practices that incorporate child health
I think it is encouraging that more organizations are realizing that what we use around our homes and on our lawns are having negative effects on our health. Maybe more people will pay attention to these issues if we shift our focus to the research that suggests pesticide exposure in children not only causes acute poisoning but cancer, asthma, cognitive deficits, brain tumors, leukemia, reductions in IQ, ADHD, and autism.
